Wearing my Skalli Paris necklace that I bought in Paris over four years ago. It does not seem that long ago, but we were there Spring 2007. That was the last vacation John and I took together. We really need to figure out when to take another one.

I am a week behind in my 52 weeks project...again. I need to catch up. I haven't done anything with texture in a really long time, and I just upgraded my photoshop elements to version 10. There are new features that I didn't have in my old version, so I wanted to try something out. Plus this photo was just asking for something. I thought text would be best, but I couldn't think of anything I wanted to include on it, so I opted to use a texture layer. it's not perfect, but it's late and I need sleep.

I decided to darken my hair today to get rid of the blonde brassiness I had. Plus it's autumn, so I wanted to go a bit darker. I'm glad I opted to get one of the types that last only 28 shampoos, since it turned out more red than I had intended. I don't mind it so much, but it wasn't what I had in mind. I try to stay away from warm tones because my hair always picks up the red, and I thought the light chestnut brown I chose would be fine. I've used the same color before, but not going lighter to darker, so the results were a little different this time around. I'm glad the blonde brassiness is gone though.

It has been a while since I've picked up the guitar to play. I've been looking into getting Kenzie a guitar for Christmas (from Santa, of course!), so I went downstairs with her to play for a little bit this afternoon. I had her play the other Fender (my first), but it was just too big. She had fun singing into the microphone and strumming the strings though. I think a short scale guitar will be a good size for her, and since she seems interested in it, she will probably like learning. She usually sees daddy play, so I think she liked seeing that mommy plays too.

since we are all under the weather here, I decided to keep K home from school today. she didn't seem to mind, but I thought it might cause drama, since she loves going to school. it was really rainy all day, so I think she might have thought we were staying home because of the weather. at least that's what she told John when he got home from work. silly kid.

I'm trying to get over a cold that hit from out of nowhere. yesterday I felt really crummy, overall just tired and congested. today I felt better, but still congested. not feeling as weak and tired was an improvement though. tomorrow night I have derby practice and we are doing photos, so I am really hoping I feel good enough to go. I missed it the last time we did photos, and I was still sort of new to derby when I got my first photos, so I looked uncomfortable, and I didn't care much for my photos. so I really want to try and get there tomorrow. *fingers crossed* I feel better tomorrow.

everybody came down with a bit of a cold, so the girls got a bath to try and help them feel better before bedtime. aubrey is also now sleeping in her new, warmer sleep sack; however, I have a feeling she will be up again soon because of the darn head cold. why is it that whenever you *need* to sleep, you can't?

Tonight was my first time wearing my derby skinz to practice in a visible way. I was wearing leggings anyway, so adding a layer over them really wasn't a big deal. I wore a skirt over both so I could head to practice though. I figured I'd probably run into a neighbor, and sure enough I did. It was kind of nice not having a skirt to get in the way, but I don't think I'll be wearing these anytime soon with fishnets. Heavy leggings are a must for me right now.

We went to the playground for a little bit after picking up big sister from school. We didn't stay long, but the fresh air must have tired the kids out, since they both fell asleep immediately when we got home.
