"Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better"
- the beatles, hey jude -
I know the photo has nothing to do with the lyric, but this was the photo I took for today. I was working on a clothing pattern.
The lyrics, however, are for my new nephew. My youngest brother and his wife welcomed their first baby, Jude Everett. He was born this evening, and I'm looking forward to meeting him this week.

"When I was young
I didn't know if I was better off asleep or up
Now I've grown up
I wonder what was that world I was dreaming of?"
- nada surf, when I was young -

"I want nature to be so strong
Wind and rain
Inky blue that goes on and on
In the day"
- nada surf, the moon is calling -

Just doing a little 31 day photo challenge. I don't want to commit to a 365, but I do miss having a reason to take photos every day. Or at least attempting to take better or more interesting photos.
Kenzie looked cute laying on the rug in Aubrey's room, and, surprisingly was smiling for the camera.

I want to try and keep up with posting photos here on my blog. I'm not doing a 365 this year, but thought I might as well keep up with blogging. This photo is from a few days ago. We started the day with music class (both girls), then off to tumbling for Kenzie. Afterwards, Aubrey had her 15 month check up, which included some shots. She didn't like the shots at all, but once she calmed down, she was a pretty happy camper the rest of the day. It was a busy day with lots of running around, but it's been a quiet evening for the most part, so I'm catching up on photo editing and blogging.
.
While Kenzie was at school, I had the gate closed so Aubrey could play upstairs while I was assembling the drawer units for our new bed in the hallway. I had gone downstairs for something and came back to find her in the office just sitting in the rocking chair reading a book. It was pretty cute.

Aubrey wasn't sure what to make of it, but Kenzie had fun playing in the snow.

Aubrey enjoys feeding herself, but she also tends to make a huge mess. This was before she got yogurt all over the table, her clothes, the floor, and the surrounding furniture.

This year I am going to try and take more photos with my real camera, and not just the iPhone camera. I'm also going to try to remember to use more lenses, and not just my 50mm...though it is the one I use the most often.

shot using the hipstamatic disposables app on my phone. I took this sometime around the end of december.

taken a few days ago. she looked cute playing with the dollhouse, and it was such a rare thing for her to be able to do so without Kenzie coming in and pushing her out of the way.

I'm not doing a 365 for 2012, but I thought I would still continue to post occasional photos to my blog. Here is the first I'm posting for 2012.

Not much snow, but Kenzie was pretty excited to go out and play in it.

362/365:2 /// Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
--
Well, I tried to take a couple of photos last night to mark the end of the year. Trying to pose with two squirmy kids wasn't working out. I was hoping using Incredibooth would keep Kenzie looking at the camera on my phone, but she didn't seem to care. Anyway, these were the best couple shots I managed to take.
I think I'm officially ending my 365 a few days early. I wish I didn't miss the few days that I did over the year. I think doing a 365 two years in a row (and with a new baby) was a pretty good challenge. Some days I definitely just called it in, but for the most part I liked what I put up. Even if they were just phone shots or photos of the kids.
Anyway, Happy New Year everybody! I'll still be posting on flickr, but I'm not doing a 365 again. I'll consider a 52 weeks project or maybe I'll just do some other photo projects throughout the year. Maybe I'll even get back into doing Blythe photography again. I do miss it.

Skills assessments were last night to see if I passed to get to DL:O. I don't want to jinx it, but I thought I did pretty well. I gave it my all, and did my best. Now I just have to wait and see what my critique says.
